This is my interview with Brooks Paschal the lead singer for the up and coming Tooth and Nail band Sullivan.
Q: Was Sullivan the first band you first started playing with, or were there other bands that started your music career?
A: Oh yeah, many others, but Sullivan was the first thing that was completely mine, as in I wrote everything, and it was the first band that I sang in.
Q: Were there any challenges writing the new record?
A: actually no, that’s what made it good I think, it was very natural. I guess the only thing that was unexpected and potentially dangerous was that we actually had to go in he studio a month and a half sooner than we had planned, but everything went so smooth.
Q: Are you surprised by the recent success of Sullivan, from its "two members and a drum machine-era" long ago?
A: Of course, I never thought it would go this far, and the truth is we spent 2 years just kind of doing this for fun, and then there was this moment where we saw a chance to go big with it, so we did.
Q: How did Tooth and Nail find out about Sullivan and then go on to sign you guys?
A: We sent demos, very old fashion, we happen to be playing a show where the guys from He Is Legend were hanging out, Chad was talking to one of them about us and they were like "these dudes are rad," and that sealed the deal!
Q: Can you see Sullivan possibly on The Vans Warped Tour in a year or two, or doing a world tour?
A: Oh yeah, the record is getting released in Japan so we are heading there soon. I’m not sure why we haven’t done warped yet. I think our schedule just never matches
End: That’s awesome, cant wait to hear from you guys overseas. Thanks Brooks!
